Jake Knipp grew up in Colorado and fell in love with the game of football early on in his childhood. Once he got to high school, he fell in love with the quarterback position on a whole different level. Jake became a 2-time All-State Quarterback selection and broke the Colorado High School record for highest completion percentage in a season. Jake ended up accepting a scholarship to play football at the University of Northern Colorado where he would wind up spending 6 years playing for the Bears. Jake took over as starting Quarterback his freshmen year and broke every freshmen record in UNC history. Jake would become the only 5-time team captain in the history of the NCAA after 6 years in Greeley. With several injuries and setbacks along the way, Jake ended up signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL and now has chosen to coach and share all of his successes and failures with the next generation of quarterbacks.
Ashli graduated from Windsor High School in 2009 and attended Colorado State University-Pueblo on a softball scholarship. She is married with three children. Her playing experience includes: 14 years in total for playing softball both competitively and for the city league in the state of Florida before moving to Colorado. Ashli was a varsity starter for softball every year during high school. Ashli excelled as a pitcher and first baseman during her playing years. She brings a lot of knowledge on the mound and has taken her passion for softball as an assistant coach following her college career. Ashli enjoys teaching kids and says it is a rewarding experience, especially those that are entering and joining the softball experience for the first time. Ashli enjoys getting to see the players grow, succeed, and become the best versions of themselves both on and off the field. It is a fulfilling experience to be a part of their journey and make a positive impact in their lives.
Steve is a seasoned PGA Golf Professional with over 30 years of experience in teaching and directing golf operations across Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Currently serving as the Director of Instruction at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Steve brings his wealth of expertise to the Lasorda Legacy Academy, where he will lead the Golf Instruction Programs.
Born into a military family in Marlow, Oklahoma, Steve spent his formative years in El Paso, Texas, where he was introduced to golf by his father and inspired by legendary Texas PGA professionals Lee Trevino and Ben Hogan. His passion for the sport led him to become a top state high school golfer and earn a spot-on Lamar Community College's golf team, where he secured multiple team championships and medalist honors.
Returning to El Paso, Steve transitioned into a club professional and a competitive player, clinching victories in prestigious tournaments like Lee Trevino’s event at Ladera Golf Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Throughout his career, he has overseen the renovation and construction of various golf courses and held positions as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager at notable clubs such as Pueblo de Cochiti Golf Club and Taos Country Club.
Under the mentorship of teaching greats Ben Doyle and PGA tour member Wally Armstrong, Steve developed his teaching principles grounded in the fundamentals practiced by the world’s best players. He has since instructed over 5,000 private lessons and clinics, establishing himself as a respected figure in the golf instruction community.
In 2001, Steve co-founded the Top Golf Academy in Queretaro, Mexico, where he was tasked by the Mexican Golf Federation to develop elite junior programs and teaching curriculums for Mexican PGA Professionals. Back in the United States, he has coached numerous high school teams, guiding aspiring student-athletes to successful collegiate and professional careers.
Steve's teaching philosophy centers on his passion for golf and his commitment to helping students of all levels improve their game. He emphasizes clear communication, setting measurable goals, and integrating mental game techniques derived from the Inner Game of Golf and sports psychologist Richard Coop's teachings.
With a belief in the power of imagination and a focus on simplifying the swing process, Steve aims to empower his students to achieve consistency and excellence on the course. He is dedicated to making a positive impact on golfers in Northern Colorado and is available for lessons Monday through Saturday, with custom programs tailored to individual needs.
Amanda is a Northern Colorado native, currently living in Severance, CO with her husband and three children, Easton, Rawlings and Ripken. Most of her life has been dedicated to softball/baseball, playing from a young age through high school, which includes being part of the 2007 5A State Championship softball team from Rocky Mountain High School.
Amanda has continued her passion in this field by coaching softball at the high school level in the fall and is an assistant baseball coach for the Team Steel 10U Pink team.
Her favorite is the look on the player's face when they have their AHA moment! The look they have when it truly clicks is priceless!
Chris has an extensive professional playing and scouting career and years of experience providing personal baseball instruction through individual lessons, camps and showcases. He was drafted out of high school by the Cleveland Indians in the 17th round of the MLB Draft and was then drafted and signed in the 5th round by the San Diego Padres when he decided to attend the University of Northern Colorado. Chris enjoyed an 11-year professional playing career in the U.S., Mexico and Dominican Republic.
Chris also has 25+ years of professional scouting experience with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies. He has years of experience providing personal baseball instruction through individual lessons, camps and showcases.
Chris is currently the manager and general manager of the Pioneer League’s Grand Junction Jackalopes, a Colorado Dugout Club Hall of Fame inductee, and he was a recruiting coordinator at Dallas Baptist University. He created the Noco Braves, Tigers, and Phillies Scout Teams that had several current MLB players such as Marco Gonzales, Brandon Nimmo, Pierce Johnson and others.
Andy has 12 years of professional baseball experience, including nine years in the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations. He appeared in 10 games for the Blue Jays in 2016 and nine games for the Dodgers in 2021.
A Fort Collins native, Andy won two state titles at Rocky Mountain High School and was named the 2008 Gatorade Player of the Year. He played collegiately at the University of Kentucky and University of Arizona and was drafted twice in 2008 (25th round by the Rockies) and 2011 (11th round) by the Blue Jays.
Andy played for the Lotte Giants in the Korea Baseball Organization League (KBO) for two years in 2017-2018. He is currently a scout for Asia.
Mark is a Colorado native, the first native to play for the Colorado Rockies during the inaugural season of 1993. He’s also the only person to play high school baseball, (Northglenn) college baseball (Colorado State) plus Major and Minor League Baseball in his home state. A right-handed pitcher, he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 1983 draft out of CSU. Mark pitched for 12 professional seasons, including all or parts of eight big league seasons with Houston, Milwaukee and Colorado. In 1990, he threw a complete game shutout against the World Champion Oakland A’s and in 1991, he was Milwaukee’s Opening Day starting pitcher when the Brewers defeated Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan and the Texas Rangers. During his career, Mark recorded wins over three of the four members of the 3,000 strikeout club: Ryan, Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson.
Mark will be entering his eighth season as a high school baseball Head Coach at Prospect Ridge Academy in Broomfield in 2025. The Miners finished ranked #14 in Class 3A last season. During the summer, Mark also does pitching instruction for clinics run by the Major League Baseball Alumni Association.
Brian is from Boca Raton, Florida, and he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management & Sociology and Colorado State University with a Master’s Degree in Sport Management. He has certifications from Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) and Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) in: Baseball GM & Scouting, Baseball Player Development, Baseball Analytics, and Conversational Analytics & Critical Thinking In Baseball. Brian played 13 years of competitive baseball in South Florida throughout high school playing mostly as an outfielder. He enjoys teaching players and seeing them succeed on and off the field. Seeing young players grow, having fun, and succeeding is truly a rewarding experience.
